Tools We Use

  • We use the latest version a scanning program called VueScan and a high resolution Epson scanner to scan your photos, negatives and slides.

  • We then make use of Adobe Photoshop CS3 to open the scanned photos and slides and apply needed adjustments to color, brightness, saturation, etc that improves the look of each photo or slide. In some cases that will not be necessary but in most cases a few adjustments can really improve how photos and slides appear in the final collage or slide show. If needed we will use very specialized PhotoShop Plug-iins that help with restoring old and damaged images. These include Akvis, Imagenomic and Alien Skin Plug-ins. We also use NikSharpener Pro to further sharpen dull photos.

  • We use either Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator CS3 to create titles/banners for the collages. We also use PhotoFrame 3.0 to produce unique digital frame borders for collages and/or montages.

  • We also use another graphic program called Canvas X to build the photo collages and produce the final high resolution PDF copy. This program also produces the low resolution version that we put on our preview page for you to see before we ship the print to you.

  • To produce slide shows we use some of the programs above plus programs that specialize in producing slide shows as well as other programs like iTunes and Quicktime.

  • We use iDVD, Photos To Movie and/or ProShow Gold to create the DVD version of your slide show.

  • All of this work is done using a Dual Core Mac G5 with 6gigs of RAM, one internal 500 gig hard drive, one internal 500 gig backup hard drive, 1 500 gig external backup drive, and two 300 gig external drives that only hold progress project files. Plus we always put all of your photos/slides, as well as finished projects on CDs or DVDs as soon as they are available . That way, in the advent of some catastrophic damage to our computer, all of your project files are still protected.
